Tally Sync

Stagewise Tally Agent for Windows

A small program that connects TallyPrime to your Stagewise account. Install it once on the computer where TallyPrime runs, and your customers, suppliers, products, invoices, bills, receipts and payments reach Tally without being typed twice.

Download for Windows

Version 0.2.0 · 2.7 MB · 28 October 2026

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • TallyPrime on the same computer, with your company open
  • An administrator's password for that computer
  • Access to Integrations → Tally Sync in Stagewise

Before you install

Two settings, one in each program. Both take a minute.

In TallyPrime: let the agent in

  1. Press F1 (Help), then open Settings → Connectivity.
  2. Open Client/Server configuration.
  3. Set TallyPrime acts as to Both and Port to 9000, then save with Ctrl+A.

In Stagewise: register the agent

  1. Open Integrations → Tally Sync.
  2. Give the agent a name, such as “Accounts PC — TallyPrime”, and click Register agent.
  3. A window shows the Server URL, Client ID and Client Secret. Keep it open until step 5: the secret is shown only once. If it is lost, regenerate it on the same screen.

Install in five steps

Windows warns about the installer a few times, because it is not code-signed. Each warning is shown below with the button to press.

  1. 1

    Download, and keep the file

Click Download for Windows above. Your browser may warn that the file isn't commonly downloaded: every new version is new to Windows.

    • Microsoft Edge: click ⋯ next to the file, choose Keep, then Show more → Keep anyway.
    • Google Chrome: open the downloads list (the arrow at the top right) and choose Keep, or Download suspicious file, next to the file.

  2. 2

Open it: More info, then Run anyway

Double-click the downloaded file. Windows shows a blue box, Windows protected your PC: its warning for any program that is not code-signed.

    1. Click More info.
    2. Check that App reads StagewiseTallyAgentSetup-0.2.0.exe, then click Run anyway.

Rather skip the blue box? Right-click the file, choose Properties, tick Unblock at the bottom and click OK, then double-click it.

No Run anyway button? See the questions below.

  3. 3

    Allow it to make changes

Windows asks whether this app from an unknown publisher may make changes to your device. Click Yes.

The agent runs as a Windows service, which only an administrator can install. If you are not one, Windows asks for an administrator's password here.

    Install

Click Next, keep the folder it suggests, and click Install.

On the last page, leave Open the agent's settings page ticked and click Finish.

    Connect it to Stagewise

The agent's settings page opens in your browser. It lives on this computer at http://127.0.0.1:9765, and the agent's icon near the clock opens it too.

    1. From Stagewise's Agent credentials window, copy the Server URL, Client ID and Client Secret into the fields of the same names.
    2. Click Save settings.
    3. Click Test connection under Stagewise server and under Tally Prime. Both should pass.

Then click Done in Stagewise. Within a minute the Tally Sync screen shows the agent's version, this computer's name and your Tally company, and the agent's icon near the clock reads Connected.

Updating the agent

When Stagewise needs a newer agent, the Tally Sync screen says so and links here, and nothing syncs until it is updated. Download the latest installer from this page and run it on the same computer, as in steps 1 to 4. It replaces the old agent and keeps its settings: there is nothing to paste again.

Removing the agent

Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Stagewise Tally Agent and choose Uninstall. It asks whether to also delete the agent's settings and logs. No keeps them, so a later reinstall connects with nothing entered; Yes removes everything.

Is it the file we published?

Open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run Get-FileHash .\StagewiseTallyAgentSetup-0.2.0.exe. The Hash it prints must be exactly:

Common questions

Why does Windows say “Windows protected your PC” or “Unknown publisher”?
Windows shows these for any program that is not code-signed, and for any file it has not yet seen many people download. The agent's installer is not code-signed, and every new version is new to Windows, so you will see them on every install and update. They do not mean something is wrong with the file. To be sure it is exactly the file we published, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one on this page.
There is no Run anyway button. What now?
Click More info first: Run anyway appears only after it. If there is still none, this computer blocks programs that are not code-signed, either because Windows 11's Smart App Control is on or because of your company's IT policy. Smart App Control can be turned off under Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control settings; on some versions of Windows 11 it cannot be turned back on without resetting Windows, so ask whoever looks after the computer first. A company policy needs your IT administrator to allow the installer.
My antivirus deleted or quarantined the installer.
New programs that are not code-signed are sometimes flagged by mistake. Restore the file from quarantine (or allow it), check its SHA-256 checksum against this page, and run it again. If it keeps happening, tell us the antivirus's name and the message it showed.
Which computer should I install it on?
The computer where TallyPrime runs with your company open, usually the accounts PC. One agent serves a company: if a second computer connects with the same credentials, Stagewise refuses it and shows that computer's name on the Tally Sync screen.
Does TallyPrime have to be open?
Yes. The agent itself runs in the background as a Windows service from the moment the computer starts, even before anyone signs in, but it can only reach your books while TallyPrime is open with your company loaded. Whatever changed in the meantime is synced the next time it is.
The Tally test fails on the agent's settings page.
Check that TallyPrime is open with your company loaded, and that it acts as Both on port 9000 (see “In TallyPrime” above). A window left open inside TallyPrime also blocks it: close it and test again.
Our office reaches the internet through a proxy.
Leave Proxy blank on the agent's settings page and it uses this computer's own proxy setting. Type none to connect directly, or give the proxy's address, for example http://proxy.office.local:8080.
Where does the agent send my Tally data?
Only to your own Stagewise address, the Server URL you paste into it, and only to TallyPrime on the same computer. Its client secret is kept on that computer, encrypted by Windows.

What's new

Version 0.2.0 28 October 2026

  • A Windows installer: the agent runs as a Windows service that starts with the computer, and a newer installer updates it in place, keeping its settings.
  • Connects within about 30 seconds of being registered in Stagewise, and again within seconds of the computer waking from sleep.
  • Uses this computer's own proxy setting, or one you give it.
